Raffles’ commitment to preserving the environment was evident in its restoration of the 60,000 sqm Royal Crusade of Independence Gardens in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Raffles continues to enhance and protect the environment in which it operates through initiatives such as the annual clean up of the Siem Reap River in Cambodia which bands together staff members from Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor, local businessmen and students to remove debris from the river, the annual Canouan Island beach cleanup campaign and the "adopt-a-turtle" programme by Raffles Canouan.
