Check the ingredients for the ideal Bali getaway, and you could end up with Anantara’s Bali resort at Seminyak. A wide, 3,500 sq m expanse of white sand? Check. Generously sized, 80 sq m rooms? Check. Onsite spa? Check. And not one, but two infinity-edge pools overlooking the Indian Ocean.
The resort’s 59 suites offer up the luxe-native touches travelers to Bali may now consider de rigeur: spacious baths, dark wood floors, and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. The truly lucky (and financially gifted) can enjoy the charms of the Anantara’s Penthouse Suite: 420 sq m of rooftop luxury including an indoor-outdoor infinity pool and 270-degree panoramic views.
Those who venture from their rooms can dine at the all-day Asian-inspired Paon, sip a cocktail at the rooftop bar, or munch on traditional Thai cuisine at Wild Orchid. But those in for a real treat can design their own meal, courtesy of Dining by Design.
Anantara Resort Seminyak offers unique expeditions to explore the vibrant tropical nature or spiritual heartland of the island of Bali. Delightfully accessible, located a mere 20-minute drive from Denpasar International Airport.
Environment
All Anantara Resorts have effective recycling, energy-conservation and waste management measures already in place. It is very challenging for tourism to be completely sustainable as every industry has impacts, but it can work towards being more sustainable in many ways.
In 2008, particular areas of focus will be to reduce waste and pollution as well as identifying effective ways of reusing grey water and dealing with solid waste.
Further investigations into the use of solar power, biodegradable products and energy-efficient light systems will also be undertaken. On-going training programmes will be refined to make Anantara staff more aware of the difference ''green'' actions can make and to encourage them play their part.
