Those in the know like to call it “The Estate”, but this resort is less about the rooms, food and décor and more about You with a capital Y. Strung-out debutantes, detoxing rock stars and midlife-crisis hippies can all focus on themselves at this unique destination, considered among the top 10 “boutique spas” in the world by the 2007 Spa Finder Readers’ Choice Awards.
Set in Begawan Giri, The Estate is considered the flagship of the COMO Shambhala (Sanskrit for “sacred place of bliss, in case you need reminding) empire, and promises guests a “360-degree experience” for a variety of programs including detox, weight management and getting fit. Aside from the expected therapists and activity guides, there are also ayurvedic doctors and physiotherapists on call.
As a result, design is appropriately Asian-inspired and austere, with thatched roofs, water, wood, stone, open-air spaces and verdant greenery all a part of the journey to a better You.
Location & How to get there
CSE is a 15-minute drive from Ubud, and a one-hour drive from Denpasar, Bali’s international airport with direct flights to Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Bangkok, Sydney as well as internal flights in Indonesia.
