This self-described “boutique urban resort” peddles “nouveau Asian” design to the style-conscious business traveler: bamboo paneling, walkways bridging flowing water and light-filled rooms embody the Hotel Maya’s fusion of nature with its very urban setting, a short walk from the Petronas Twin Towers.

Rooms resolutely cling to the “man chic” aesthetic: black accents, sleek hardwood floors, modernist furniture, floor-to-ceiling windows. A pillow menu should please jet-lagged guests, as should the butler service. Junior suites boast standalone bathtubs, while deluxe suites feature walk-in closets. The top-of-the-line executive suites include separate living quarters.

Relief for the tired traveler abounds outside of your room too: Anggun spa features a hydrotherapy pool, as well as a café that serves purely organic food. All-occasions Maya Brasserie serves both local and international delicacies, Still Waters is inspired by cuisine in the Land of the Rising Sun, and cheerful Ramah Tamah provides quick, light lunches like salads and sandwiches.
