Who says camping isn’t fun? Kirimaya means “illusion of mountain”, perhaps a reference to the many “tents” that dot the area around Khao Yai, site of Thailand’s largest national park. What its owners call the “Kirimaya Experience” includes a bewildering range of activities, thanks to its Khao Yai location: wellness spas, restaurants and an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Considered the first “boutique luxury resort” in Khao Yai, Kirimaya calls its rooms “tented villas” that offer hardwood floors, bamboo daybeds and “the most comfortable mattresses in Thailand”. Some villas also boast private pools and sundeck overlooking the golf course.

Of course, one of the biggest lures here is the golf course, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Maya Spa can help massage out the kinks from overdoing your golf swing, while the signature Acala Restaurant, next to the golf course, offers a convenient stop for lunch.
