Thailand
A tropical resort of a different stripe, Kamalaya may be to hippies and strung-out rock stars what Botox is to society mavens: a welcome alternative. Calling itself a “wellness sanctuary and holistic spa resort”, Kamalaya focuses on giving guests more than an experience: holistic healing.
The resort is even named after an ancient symbol of growth and rejuvenation. Rooms reflect this theme as well, designed to blend into the surrounding valley and decorated with a scattering of Asian pieces. Cuisine at Soma Restaurant and Amrita Café is, naturally, health-centric.
Come here for what was once called “the cure” and the wellness and holistic therapies cover detox, yoga, Tai Chi, ayurvedic therapy and dozens more. And for those times when you must visit the outside world, a trip to Chaweng is only 30 minutes away. There you will find restaurants, bars, and shopping. One of the most unique spas in the world, this vacation may change your life.
Kamalaya is located on the South Eastern side of the tropical island of Koh Samui. Kamalaya is located adjacent to Laem Set Beach, a small, peaceful cove. The distance to the airport is about 25km, about a 45 minute drive.
