14/1 Moo 2
Bo Phut
Koh Samui
Thailand
Bookworms and designophiles alike will love this resort with a niche-y feel. All the usual trappings of the beach hideaway are there: 50 m of sand, pool and 6,400 sq m of land showcases centuries-old trees. But there are special bells and whistles, too: namely, the “Library Unit”, which offers a vast selection of the printed word, CDs and DVDs.
Three types of rooms – studio, duplex and suite – offer varying degrees of space but all feature grand views and a similar ascetically-inclined design philosophy. Suites include green lawn gardens for lounging, jacuzzis with rainshower and a “light box” enabling guests to choose their own “theme colors”.
When reading gets stale, there is always “simply gorgeous dining” at the beachside Page Restaurant, which serves a smattering of Western and Thai specialties. Is Spa offers a non-fattening type of diversion, and the pool – dyed red instead of blue – is just a few steps away from the white sands of Chaweng Beach.
On a lively Chaweng Beach, approximately 20-minute drive away from Samui Airport
