Nai Yang Beach
Amphur Thalang
Phuket
Thailand
This imaginatively named resort proves it has plenty of imagination to spare – the unique concept here is to evoke Phuket’s tin mining past via architecture and décor meant to suggest a century-old Thai factory. Luckily, the comforts do not come anywhere near those of a 100-year-old factory, as evidenced by the plush rooms and suites, large pool and handful of dining venues.
In a refreshing departure from the seaside resort norm, designers here were not afraid to use color: namely, bright shots of blue, orange and red. Rooms come in several variations, including the Kelly Quarters rooms which overlook the gardens, Pearl Bed Suites featuring balcony bathtubs, and Plantation Villas with private courtyards.
Dining venues are as imaginative and numerous as room types, including the vaguely Middle Eastern-looking Rivet Grill, the resort’s signature restaurant, ancient Thai-themed Black Ginger, and “world cuisine” at the spacious Tin Mine. For drinks and snooker in an interesting setting, check out Tongkah Tin Syndicate.
Set along Nai Yang Beach on Phuket's northwest shore lies Indigo Pearl, one of Thailand’s most beautiful resorts. A truly hidden sanctuary just moments from the expanse of the Andaman Sea, this designer resort is adjacent to Sirinath National Park and only 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
