Vietnam
This sprawling resort in the highlands of Vietnam is a lovingly reconstructed collection of authentic French colonial villas from the 1920s and 1930s, painstakingly restored to their (almost) original condition. Here, urbanites get a chance to de-stress amid the wonders of nature – with plenty of luxuries like massages and cable TV to keep this resort from being anything close to hermit-like.
All villas – spread across 35 acres of rolling parkland formerly known as the “Bellevue Quarter” – are unique, ranging from Alsatian to Art Deco in design inspiration. Interiors, dressed in pale shades and a restrained French flair, are boast wood floors and downy duvets. Bathrooms also feature fireplaces, standalone bathtubs, and organic bath products.
The restaurant, set in Villa 13, serves up the Asian fusion that has become shorthand for “luxury resort food” in Vietnam. And of course, there is a Six Senses spa, which includes traditional Vietnamese treatments, plus panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Located on approximately 35-acres of suburban parkland that forms its own unique compound, the villas offers 64 individual accommodations comprising between three and five en-suited rooms plus an individual kitchen allowing butlers to attend to all requests - from breakfast through to privately arranged in-villa dining. Various room types include dedicated spa suites for additional pampering.
